My Blog
My Blog
Hello all again!
To make up for my lackadaisical spirit of writing recently, I figured I might write two entries fairly (*cough cough*) consecutively. (Besides, the first blog wasn't a blog, it was a little bit of typing and a copy and a paste of my poems.)
So...more stuff on violin, the first topic being:
1.) The return of the Christian Community Orchestra! This time with a new challenge! First violin (playing the hardest parts, usually the melody)!!! Yeah, it wasn't THAT hard, so this won't be too exciting. Just a couple quick things that I wanted to say.
Firstly being, the songs were easy. If I wrote about each song individually, you'd probably fall out of your seat because you'd be snoring about half-way through the blog if you could actually read for that long and you'd bonk your head and wake up with a start and when you woke up you'd be very groggy and you'd have a headache from hitting your head on the ground and it would all be because my blog was boring.
And we CERTAINLY don't want that, now do we?
So, I'll just say it was all fairly effortless (everything except a shortened little Messiah Suite thingy...that was...interestingly challenging).
My second topic to discuss is more for the future...bleh...I don't feel like publicizing this, and I'm not sure how to do it without singing my own praises or going insane from anticipation. Hehehe, but disregarding those facts, the Christian Community Orchestra's next performance entitled 'Springsational' is going to be on May, 1, 2012. If you would be interested in seeing a good concert, then 'save the date' or whatever they say. Not to mention this one will be a little more important because Savannah Holmes (Yes, THE Savannah Holmes, daughter of the Kedron, Georgia Chick-fil-A manager. %-)) and I will be preforming a duet...in front of like...heheh, 600 plus people. Including you guys if you would come. :)
But seriously, it would be a great encouragement if any of you peoples could come. We're doing a piece called the Double Concerto for Two Violins in D Minor, which for me is like...the accomplishment of a lifetime. Sort of. Just think of it as a grand debut! If you want any more info, contact me or whatever. (Ha, and if you're REALLY close to me, you're getting an invite anyway. ;))
2.) Second topic is more on violin...and it's all about my recital!
Again, if I wrote abut each song preformed individually, it would be BOOORING. So I'll say that everyone did well. The songs I preformed were, "Concerning Hobbits" on the piano with a flutist and a violinist to accompany, "Double Concerto for Two Violins in D Minor" with Savannah...sort of like a prep for the real thing in May, "The Pupil's Concerto Rondo" which was my solo piece, and "Canon in D" which I still need to record and post in the video and audio section of our web...
So skipping all of that (you can't hear the actual songs, so I figured it would be pretty monotonous to have a bunch of song names thrown at you), the last thing about my recital is the fact that I got the award for Suzuki Book 3! Yay! 33.3333 (etc.) % through the entire Suzuki repertoire! So...now that I'm done bragging on myself...
Ciao! ;P
{This is a filler picture until/if we get a pic of Megan in concert.}
